Job Description:

They are currently seeking 2 individuals to join them as Community Workers, 1 post is full time (37.5 hours per week) and 1 post is part time (18.75 hours per week). The main purpose of these roles is to ensure that the service is run in line with the organisation’s visions and values statement and policies and procedures. Within this role your main responsibilities will include supporting people to maintain and strengthen their presence in the community, working across a range of community life connection services and participating in the service user assessments process, completing paperwork where necessary. You will also be expected to support, develop and supervise user led activities; plan, prepare and facilitate activities within the centre and the community and have a good, up to date knowledge of local services and resources.

 
Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will have worked in a similar role previously and will have experience of supporting people within the mental health field. It is essential that you have the potential to manage challenging situations and remain calm when faced with them and that you have the ability to work sensitively and on your own initiative without the need for constant line management. You must have a commitment to user involvement and the development of user led services along with an awareness of health and safety and safeguarding legislation. You should have adequate cooking skills along with knowledge of healthy eating and the impact that this has on people. It would be advantageous for you to hold a full UK driving licence and have knowledge of local facilities and resources. The closing date for these roles is Friday 25th June 2010.
