Our client is a UK based distributor for a premier Japanese Machine Tool Company who supplies a range of Grinding / Machining Centre’s into the European manufacturing sector.

They are currently looking for an Application Engineer a Pre-Sales Engineer and a Trainee Applications Engineer to join our team at the company’s Technical Centre in Coventry.

 
Job Description:
Applications Engineer
They are looking for a ‘hands on’ Manufacturing Engineer who has completed a machining based apprenticeship with the relevant production experience to compliment this. As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering all aspects of a Turnkey package. Duties would include component planning, methodology, fixture/tooling concept, CNC programming, prove out, process acceptance tests and customer training. It is essential that you have CNC machining centre experience and a working knowledge of CAD systems. A knowledge of creep feed grinding or VIPER grinding would also be an advantage. This is a hands on role and involves working in our Coventry Technical Centre and on customer sites.

This role will involve extensive travel throughout the UK and Europe, and therefore you will ideally hold a full, clean driving license and be prepared to work away from home. A basic knowledge of a European language would be advantageous but not essential

 
Skills and Qualifications
Pre-Sales Engineer They are also looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who has completed a machining based apprenticeship with the relevant production experience to compliment this. As a Pre-Sales Engineer you will be responsible for producing technical quotations and specifications for Machine and Turnkey sales. Duties include component concept planning, cutting methodology, fixture/tooling concept, time studies and preparing quotes. It is essential that you have a CNC machining background and are fully conversant with 3D CAD/CAM packages. Although not essential, a knowledge of creep feed grinding or VIPER grinding would be an advantage. This is an office based roll however you will be expected to liaise with suppliers and customers on a regular basis. You will ideally hold a full, clean driving license to enable customer visits. Trainee Applications Engineer This position will suit someone who has recently completed a machining based Apprenticeship and would like a career in machine tool applications. We are looking for someone who is self motivated, willing to learn and be part of a highly skilled team. Initially, this will be an office based position while the successful candidate is trained to become an Applications Engineer.
